The subject matter of this invention is providing a means for speeding up water circulation in solar water heaters. In accordance with the invention, the heating water tube consists of an outer circular tube made of heat conducting material, one end of which is sealed and the other end is connected to the water tank in a solar water heater unit. An isolating plate of width equal to the diameter of the said circular tube runs along the length of the circular tube being supported by two or more supports with at least one support towards each end of the said circular tube. A gap is provided between the end of the isolating plate and the sealed end of the said circular tube so as to allow water to move from the region below the isolating plate to the region above the isolating plate via the gap. The plane of the isolating plate is perpendicular to a vertical plane passing through the axis of the circular tube. This structure makes the hotter water in the section above the isolating plate move up into the water tank and the colder water in the water tank move down into the section below the isolating plate with the colder water pushing up hotter water via the gap at the end. Thus, the rate of circulation of water between the tube and the water tank is increased.
