SYSTEM FOR REMOTELY CONTROLLING OPERATION OF MUDGUN AND DRILL MACHINE AT CAST HOUSE OF BLAST FURNACE IN STEEL PLANT

The present invention relates to application of Radio remote control based automation system for operation of Mudgun and Drill machine of a Blast furnace. The automation system has been designed using Radio portable station, Radio receiver station, hydraulic valve stand with proportional valves, proportional valve amplifiers mounted in air cooled and dust proof enclosure and a PLC based means adapted for generating commands for controlling and interlocking the machines. The system ensures reliability of signal transmission, and safety of operating personnel thereby achieving reduction in downtime of equipment and enhancing reliability of the operation favoring wide scale application of such system for existing blast furnaces at Steel Plants. The system can also be applied for Steel melting plant, Raw Materials Handling Plant, Coke ovens, Sinter Plants and any other hazardous locations.
