The 4-(4-methyl phenoxy) benzyl phenyl urea has the Formula I: A process for the synthesis of the 4-(4-methyl phenoxy) benzyl phenyl urea comprises condensing phenyl isocyanate with 4-(4-methyl phenoxy) benzyl amine in the molar ratio 1:1-1.12 in an organic solvent at 25 to120 OC and isolating the product from the reaction and if desired, converting the product into acid addition salt thereof.
