A HERBAL CREAM FOR DERMAL INFECTION AND PROCESS THEREOF

Fungal infections occur in billion people every year. Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by yeast that belong to genus Candida. There are over 20 species of Candida yeast that can cause infection in humans, the most common is Candida albicans. Candida skin infections found commonly in intertrisinous regions, where two skin areas touch or rub together. The therapy used for treatment uses synthetic drugs like butoconazole, clotrimazole, nystatin, etc. but develop undesirable side effects. Due to increase of health concern, herbal drugs are gaining popularity. This study aimed to formulate herbal cream for candidiasis using extract of Camellia sinensis and determining its antifungal activity against Candida albicans using disk diffusion method.
