DESIGN OF WIDEBAND CIRCULAR PATCH ANTENNA FOR 2.4GHZ ISM BAND APPLICATIONS

摘要

This research focuses ,the design and radiation performance of circularly polarized antenna applicable for ISM band operations (2.4GHz).The design utilizes thick rogers 5880RT duroid substrate with circular ground plane which connects to a modified circular patch by a set of conductive vias,to achieve wideband impedance matching.The curved and extended legs introduced at the edge of circular patch excite a degenerate, mode and create circularly polarized fields.A prototype was fabricated and measured.The prototype antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 21.75% from 2.25GHz to 2.77GHz.The patch is fed by a coaxial probe type SMA connector.To describe and optimize this antenna, a parametric study was carried out.
