ABSTRACT Energy efficient Parallel Pumping System in Ballast Water Management for Reduction of Ship Emissions The invention discloses a novel method of using a parallel pumping system in Ballast water management in ships. Instead of a high capacity single pump, multiple pumps in parallel arrangement are used. Operating multiple pumps in parallel arrangement as per the demand reduces the fuel consumption when compared with high powered single pump working at its capacity. This arrangement helps in reducing the power requirement thereby reducing the fuel consumption and emissions.
