ABSTRACT OF INVENTION The present invention relates to pyrotechnic delay composition and a process for its preparation has been provided wherein the delay composition is prepared by mixing dried Titanium metal powder, iron oxide, potassium perchlorate and nitrocellulose from nitrocellulose varnish as binder. The delay composition of the present invention is low in toxicity due to the use of ingredients like titanium, iron oxide, potassium perchlorate and nitrocellulose, it gives a delay time of about 4 s/cm and functions reliably in the temperature range of -40° C to +60° C.
