The invention relates to a method and system for extending the expiry date or validity/active period of prepaid service, preferably SIM card, especially for mobile device/phone, that comprises purchasing of a validity/active extension SKU, by the user, with predetermined minimum phone credit or load, and activating or enabling such extension through the user mobile's built-in or downloaded app in a system/program that runs through a concerned telco's network-linked backend systems. The extension SKU is preferably for a period of 365 days or one year's time that is preferably reactivatable for another extension period with same or different duration after or before its expiry date. Once the 81M card's validity is extended, the SIM card can then operate without any credit being inputted into it, allowing retention of the user's SIM or phone numbers for a much longer period as desired.
