Peptide, consisting of 7-20, especially 7-17 adjacent amino acids and comprising the TX1EX2X3E hexamer, wherein X1, X2 and X3 can be any natural or non-natural amino acid, where the peptide does not exhibit any receptor binding activity of TNF and is cycled, for the application in the treatment and prevention of the pulmonary form of mountain sickness.
