Techniques for effectively transmitting control messages to users in active mode and in standby mode in wireless networks based on orthogonal division multiple access of the OFDMA frequency
A system comprising: a base station, BS, (410) and at least one mobile station, MS, (405) that can be in an idle mode or in a standby mode to be able to communicate where said base station is adapted to use a common channel whenever necessary for the transmission of control messages (120; 125) to said at least one mobile station MS in said idle mode or in said standby mode; and wherein said at least one mobile station MS in said idle mode or in said standby mode is adapted to read the control information in said common channel by said at least one mobile station MS in said idle mode or standby mode by decoding a Frame Control Header, FCH, (110) of an OFDMA frame containing the common channel in order to have knowledge about the presence of any control messages (120; 125), then if and only if it is aware of the presence of control messages that are addressed to it in the OFDMA frame, adapted to decode a Logic Code of Inactivity / Wait Status Control, LISCC, which immediately follows said FCH header and to determine the length of said common channel and then decoding the control information in said common channel.
