Method for manufacturing a pole for a rotor or a stator for a motor or generator in which the motor or generator comprising a rotor with a rotor body provided with a number of rotor poles (6) and a stator with a stator body provided with a number of stator poles, characterized in that the method comprises the steps of: - providing a strip (1) of a first material and a strip (2) of a second material, - joining the strips ( 1, 2) with the edges of the strips against each other, and - cutting laminates pole (3, 4) from the joined strips, wherein the first and second materials are respectively a nonmagnetic material and electrical steel pole rotor (6) and an electric steel respetivamente unoriented oriented stator pole for electrical sheets.
