A system for preparing the profile of a user, comprising: a) a server (107) arranged to receive location data of a communication device associated with the user, the location data defining the detected position of the communication device in several different time points, with the server (107) also arranged to receive sequence data associated with the location data indicative of the order in which the location data was determined, with the server (107) also arranged to compare the location data received with zone data defining a plurality of zones and to associate the received location data with one of the plurality of zones; and b) trajectory determination means for determining the trajectory followed by a user through a first sequence of zones; where the server (107) is also arranged to prepare a user profile by classifying it into one or more predetermined user types, based on the determined trajectory.
