Method of manufacturing a sheet article (1) comprising a support (40) formed by a film of activatable adhesive material and a layer of material to be painted (20), arranged on a first face of the support (40), the adhesive being temporarily inactive, and the second face of the support (40) being free, a procedure characterized in that it comprises the steps consisting of: (i) feeding a machine with a molding support (10); (ii) apply on a first face of the molding support (10) a layer of material to be painted (20); (iii) dry the layer of material to be painted (20); (iv) apply a layer of an activatable adhesive (40); and (v) drying the adhesive layer (40) without activating it; the molding support presenting a state of roughness adapted to the desired finish for the surface of the visible article after the removal of said molding support.
