Bioabsorbable acellular tissue regeneration matrices produced by incubation of acellular blood products

An acellular bioabsorbable regeneration matrix obtained from blood and obtainable by a method according to any one of claims 14 to 19, the matrix comprising: a) aggregates of spherical structures that are at least 100 nm in diameter; and b) a proteinaceous nucleus having a protein content of at least 1%; in which the matrix lacks substantial metabolic activity compared to that initially present in said blood; and in which additionally the matrix has the ability to initiate tissue regeneration in a subject with tissue damage, increase tissue regeneration in a subject with tissue damage, or both.
