A method of forming a mist of ice nuclei in a lyophilizer (A) comprising the steps of: [a] introducing a carrier gas humerus in said lyophilizer (A), thereby forming a region of steam (C) ; [B] introduce a cryogenic fluid in said lyophilizer (A), thereby contacting with the carrier gas and forming a wet ice fog region (D) surrounded by said water vapor region (G); [C] introducing a carrier gas wet in said lyophilizer (A), thereby forming a second region of steam (F) and said region of steam (G) and the region ice fog (D) mixed to form a mixed region of growth (E); and [d] introduce a cryogenic fluid in said lyophilizer (A), contacted thereby with said second region of steam (F) to produce a second region ice fog (H) within said second steam region water (I) and mixed growth region (J).
