There is disclosed a tremolo bridge comprising a body pivotally coupledto a guitar body at a pivot axis, with a mounting portion on the body spacedrearwardlyof the pivot axis for securing the strings to the bridge at a locationrearwardly of thepivot axis such that tension in the strings urges the body to pivot in a firstdirection ofrotation about the pivot axis. A lever portion of the body is provided infixed relation tothe mounting portion and that extends rearwardly therefrom so as to be adaptedforengagement by a portion of an arm of a user while playing the strings.Furthermore, abiasing assembly is operatively coupled to the body to urge the body in aseconddirection of rotation about the pivot axis that is opposite the firstdirection so as tocounteract the tension in the strings.
