A hand-held, portable diode laser surgical device includes a power supply, atleast one laser diode, integral controlinterface and display, and a multi-component sterile, disposable tip apparatusfeaturing assembly for alignment of a self-containedoptical fiber to the surgical device, and releasably locking assembly betweenthe tip apparatus and surgical device. Anembodiment includes wireless foot pedal on/off control and a dock providingsterile, antiseptic recharging environment.
