The present disclosure concerns implants with a film on one side forpreventingtissular adhesions and open porosity on the other side, showing goodhydrophilicity andmoisture handling properties, as well as wet strength and high resistance tobreakdownunder compression. In order to achieve this, the present disclosure provides acompositeimplant comprising a prosthetic fabric having a first side and a second side,anon-porous film of bacterial cellulose secured to the first side of the fabricand wherein theprosthetic fabric comprises a three-dimensional knit. The present disclosurealsoprovides a method of making a composite implant comprising providing aprostheticfabric having a first side and a second side, wherein the prosthetic fabriccomprises athree-dimensional knit and securing a film of bacterial cellulose to the firstside of theprosthetic fabric.
