A gas generator is provided with a combustion chamber into which oxygen and ahydrogen containing fuel are directedfor combustion therein. The gas generator also includes water inlets and anoutlet for a steam and CO2 mixture generatedwithin the gas generator. The steam and CO2 mixture can be used for variousdifferent processes, with some such processes resultingin recirculation of water from the processor back to the water inlets of thegas generator. In one process a hydrocarbon containingsubterranean space is accessed by a well and the steam and CO2 mixture isdirected into the well to enhance removabilityof hydrocarbons within the subterranean space. Fluids are then removed fromthe subterranean space include hydrocarbons andwater, with a portion of the hydrocarbons then removed in a separator/recoverystep. The resulting hydrocarbon removal systemcan operate with no polluting emissions and with no water requirements.
