DETECTING AND RESPONDING TO POTENTIALLY FRAUDULENT TENDER

The present disclosure extends to methods, systems, and computer programproducts fordetecting and responding to potentially fraudulent tender. A customer presentsa form of a tenderat a Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal in a retail location. The tender ispresented as payment for oneor more items. Transaction data, including tender data, item data, andgeographic data, is sent to acentral system for analysis. The central system determines that the presentedtender is potentiallyfraudulent based on: the one or more items, purchase history associated withthe presented tender,and the geographic location of the POS terminal. In response, in-storesurveillance equipment atthe retail location is used to save a recording of the customer. One or moreparties designated forasset protection are alerted about the potentially fraudulent tender.
