The present invention relates to an apparatus for evaluating the economic feasibility of bitumen and a method therefor, which evaluates the economic feasibility of bitumen that is buried underground, being raw oil having high viscosity, by calculating the SPI of an undeveloped chosen target, and by calculating a correlation equation with NPV. The apparatus for evaluating the economic feasibility of bitumen according to the present invention comprises: a physical logging data input part; a three-dimensional porosity model acquisition part for receiving physical logging data from the physical logging data input part and for obtaining a three-dimensional porosity model using an SGS method; a three-dimensional vertical permeability model acquisition part for receiving the physical logging data from the physical logging data input part, for receiving the three-dimensional porosity model obtained from the three-dimensional porosity model acquisition part, and for obtaining a three-dimensional vertical permeability model using the SGS method; a three-dimensional oil saturation model acquisition model for receiving the physical logging data from the physical logging data input part, for receiving the three-dimensional porosity model obtained from the three-dimensional porosity model acquisition part, and for obtaining a three-dimensional oil saturation using the SGS method; an SPI calculation part for respectively receiving the three-dimensional porosity model, the three-dimensional vertical permeability model and the three-dimensional oil saturation model from the three-dimensional porosity model acquisition part, the three-dimensional vertical permeability model acquisition part and the three-dimensional oil saturation model acquisition part, and for calculating SPI; an NPV calculation part for receiving the calculated SPI from the SPI calculation part, and for calculating an NPV using the following mathematical formula 1 [Mathematical Formula 1] NPV = 4.79 * SPI - 6.6; and a display part for displaying the distribution of the NPV values calculated from the NPV calculation part for each stratum.
