Combined heat and power plant (1) comprising: a fuel-cell stack (SOFC) (2); a burner (3) for burning gases not consumed in the stack; a line for supplying methane (4), which line is connected to the anode inlet of the stack; a line for supplying water (5), which line is connected to the anode inlet of the stack; a line for supplying ambient air (6), which line is connected to the cathode inlet of the stack; a line for removing gases (7), from the anode outlet of the stack, which line is connected to the inlet of the burner; a line for removing air (9) from the cathode outlet of the stack and emptying to ambient air; and means (10) for heating the ambient air in the line connected to the cathode inlet of the stack, to a nominal operating temperature.
