A parameter tuning method for a bypass damping filter (BDF) in a power generation system capable of suppressing sub-synchronous resonance. The frequency, at which electrical negative damping of a target generator reaches the minimal value, is kept away from the frequency of a low frequency oscillation mode and characteristic frequencies of various torsional modes of a unit turbine shaft system by determining capacitance and inductance parameters of the BDF; and the minimal value of the electrical negative damping is within a reasonable range by determining a damping resistance value of the BDF. The method could achieve the effect of suppressing torsional interaction. In addition, the energy of the sub-synchronous current in a transient state can be significantly consumed by the damping resistance of the BDF, i.e., the oscillation energy within the sub-synchronous frequency range is consumed, so that the amplification of transient torque is suppressed.
