The present invention relates to the technical field of set-top boxes, and provides a set-top box, and set-top box control method, device and system based on a brainwave signal. The method comprises: step S1, receiving brainwave signal data of a user; step S2, analyzing the brainwave signal data, and determining a physiological state of the user; and step S3, determining, according to the physiological state of the user, control instructions to the set-top box, and executing the control instructions. The present invention effectively controls whether a set-top box is to enter a standby mode by analyzing brainwave signal data of a user, thereby ameliorating user-hostile design of the conventional standby mode. A specific population having difficulty in using physical buttons can set a set-top box on standby without help from others. Moreover, the present invention completely eliminates the possibility of a user forgetting to turn off a set-top box in an involuntary state, thereby enabling a set-top box to be used in a more environmentally-friendly and energy-saving manner.
