A partition synthesis method for an online analysis of power system transient stability and a device thereof. The method comprises: according to dynamic response data of generator sets at an actual running moment of a power system, acquiring, based on a wide-area measurement system, a transient stability analysis characteristic quantity of a required regional power grid via a schedule and control centre of the regional power grid; transmitting the transient stability analysis characteristic quantity of the regional power grid to a schedule and control centre of the whole grid of an actual power grid, so as to acquire the transient stability analysis characteristic quantity of the whole grid; and synthesizing a two-dimension-one-order adjoint system characteristic vector by means of a two-dimension-one-order adjoint system partition-synthesis theorem. The device comprises: a first acquisition module (1), a transmission module (2), a second acquisition module (3) and a synthesis module (4). By means of these modules, transient stability analysis data of the whole grid can be accurately acquired without the limitations of a network structure, a power system model and parameters. The method and device can effectively improve the calculation speed of an online analysis of the power system transient stability and reduce a data storage space.
