A trailing edge component (23) includes a first skin (24) comprising a first plurality of plies (35) of carbon fiber reinforced polymer material and having a first mating region (38). The first plurality of plies includes a first ply (44) with a first drop-off edge (37) in the first mating region. A second skin (26) includes a second plurality of plies (35) of carbon fiber reinforced polymer material and having a second mating region (38) affixed to the first mating region.
