A method for improving fixed bed adsorption and the application method thereof in organic waste gas treatment. It belongs to the field of organic waste gas treatment, resolving the problems of high investment for equipment, low treatment capacity, and potential safety hazards, etc. existing in the prior art. The method comprises the following steps: (1) adsorption: introducing organic waste gas into adsorption columns filled with adsorbent to be adsorbed, and stopping adsorption when the concentration of VOCs at the outlet of the adsorption columns reaches a preset value; (2) desorption: subjecting the adsorbent having adsorbed the VOCs to desorption by water vapor with a temperature of greater than 110℃ or hot nitrogen with a temperature of greater than 150℃ and the desorbed VOCs vapor enters a condenser so as to recover liquid VOCs; (3) preadsorption by water: spraying water into the adsorption column after completion of desorption so as to obtain a water content of 8 to 35% for the adsorbent, wherein the treated adsorbent can be used directly for next batch of VOCs adsorption without any treatment. The method can effectively reduce the bed layers temperature and improve adsorption capability of the adsorbent.
