The present invention relates to a card processing system using a multi-functional IC card usable as both a credit card and an ID card, and a processing method therefor. The card processing system of the present invention comprises a card processing terminal which can read card information and individual information from a multi-functional IC card. Further, the card processing terminal can read various kinds of credit cards and various kinds of identification cards as well as a multi-functional ID card. The card processing terminal reads individual information and card information by performing user verification at least once. The present invention can prevent incidents of personal information leakage from the multi-functional IC card, and can prevent in advance incidents of a credit card or identification card being copied at the time of an electronic payment process.
