The invention relates to a method that makes it possible to set up a power reserve on a photovoltaic panel installation, which consists of controlling the power production of photovoltaic panels by adjusting the voltage that is applied to same and comprises the following consecutive steps: a) varying (S2) the voltage applied to the panels and measuring a corresponding variation in the power supplied by the panels, by consecutive voltage steps; b) identifying a maximum power supplied (MPP), in accordance with an identified voltage (VMPP); and c) varying the voltage (S5, S12) once more in order to reach the power setpoint (PRPP) that makes it possible to obtain the required reserve, in accordance with the frequency of the electricity transport network; and then the steps in parallel: d) measuring the frequency of the network and, at least if the frequency value is lower than a threshold value, adjusting the voltage in order to release all or part of the reserve according to the frequency deviation observed in relation to the nominal frequency (Δ f); and e) repeatedly measuring the power supplied (P) by the panels, and when said power diverges from the modulated power setpoint of the frequency deviation, beyond a predefined threshold, restarting steps a) to c).
