The invention relates to a method for producing a sedimentation-stable sol of crystalline nanoparticles of titanium dioxide to be used as sol-gel inks for color interference inkjet printing which allows for producing printed products with color interference images. The present sol-gel inks are produced in two stages: the first stage involves producing a nanocrystalline sol of titanium dioxide, preferably in the anatase phase, in water; the second stage involves producing sol-gel inks in the form of a nanocrystalline sol of titanium dioxide in an alcohol in water solution, having the requisite density, viscosity and surface tension for inkjet printing. The present invention provides the possibility of forming optical film nanostructures from a nanocrystalline sol of titanium dioxide by inkjet printing, and of producing interference images with high adhesion to a non-porous substrate.
