Embodiments of the present application provide a method and apparatus for a camera application, and a camera application system. The method comprises: triggering a framework to receive an image acquired by a hardware adapter layer (HAL); processing the image to obtain a processed image; and outputting the processed image to a display module corresponding to a framework layer, for displaying. The solutions in the embodiments of the present application can resolve the problem of poor compatibility of the image preview method of a camera application in the prior art.
