The invention relates to a method for evaluating the corrosion degradation of a metal pipe used to transport water, using a mobile measuring apparatus arranged so as to be connected to said metal water pipe, said method comprising the following steps: measuring a plurality of physicochemical data relating to the water transported by the pipe and/or said pipe; calculating the nature and/or the intensity of the corrosion phenomenon on the basis of the physicochemical data; displaying at least one calculated parameter on a user interface; and recording the physicochemical data and/or the at least one calculated parameter on storage means. The invention also relates to a mobile measuring apparatus arranged so as to implement such a method.
