METHOD FOR CAPACITY NOTIFICATION AND MOBILITY MANAGEMENT ENTITY (MEE) SELECTION, MEE, AND EVOLVED NODE B

A method for capacity notification and mobility management entity (MME) selection, an MME and an evolved node B (eNodeB), the MME acquiring a relative capacity thereof corresponding to a usage type of a user equipment (UE) served thereby, or a relative capacity of an MME group to which the MME belongs, and then informs the eNodeB of the relative capacity. The eNodeB acquires the UE usage type of an access UE that is denoted as a first UE usage type; determines the relative capacity of an eligible MME, corresponding to the first UE usage type; and selects an MME for the access UE according to the relative capacity of the eligible MME, corresponding to the first UE usage type. The present application may inform the eNodeB of different relative capacities with respect to different UE usage types or MME groups for use in MME selection. The present application is more flexible and capable of meeting different needs for capacity.
