Some embodiments of the present invention provide a device and a method for detecting a cerebrovascular accident (CVA). The method may include the following steps: applying radio frequency (RF) radiation into a head of a patient and receive RF reflections therefrom; retrieving S parameters from the RF reflections; extracting features from the retrieved S parameters, wherein the features are, based on predefined feature extraction rules; and applying the extracted features to a classifier, to yield an indication of a CVA occurrence, wherein the classifier takes into account previously retrieved S parameters of said patient when in a healthy condition. The device implements the aforementioned method in a head worn structure form.
