The present invention relates to a metallocene polyalphaolefin catalyst for synthetic lubricant base stocks, consisting of substituted aromatic base, bridged silicon or carbon atoms, 3' single-substituted or 3', 6' bis-substituted fluorenyl or 3' single-substituted or 3', 6' bis-substituted 5H-indeno[1,2-b] pyridyl or 3' single-substituted or 3', 6' bis-substituted 5H-indeno[1,2-b] sulfopyranyl, and metal dentate. The metallocene polyalphaolefin catalyst of the present invention has a stable structure and high catalytic efficiency. The preparation method of the present invention has simple operations, high yield, easy-to-get raw materials, low cost, and little environmental contamination, and can be easily applied to industrial production.
