A high-precision automatic optical detection system and method based on a mechanical arm. The detection process comprises: adjusting the position of a line-by-line scanning module by means of a mechanical arm, so that the line-by-line scanning module is automatically aligned with a module to be detected; and controlling various cameras to detect the module to be detected, and displaying a detection result on a display interface. By means of the mechanical arm and an electric motor, parallel alignment of a plurality of cameras and a module is achieved quickly, thereby guaranteeing that the cameras can efficiently and accurately take photographs, improving detection efficiency, and saving on detection time. The arrangement of the plurality of cameras can be flexibly adapted to the detection of modules of different sizes, thereby guaranteeing detection precision and accuracy.
