The disclosure provides a method for updating connection parameters of a low energy Bluetooth device and device thereof, the method comprising: when detecting a remote control mode is switched on at a local location, sending to a controlled device a prompt message indicating that a Bluetooth remote control device has switched to the remote control mode, such that the controlled device generates a connection parameter update request according to the prompt message and sends the same to the Bluetooth remote control device; the connection parameter update request carries an effective time of a connection parameter therein, and the effective time occurs earlier than a default effective time; after the remote control mode is switched on at the local location, monitoring at every connection interval whether or not the connection parameter update request sent by the controlled device has been received at the local location; when the connection parameter update request is detected, sending a response agreeing to update the connection parameter to the controlled device; when the effective time of the connection parameter expires, updating the connection parameter between the local location and the controlled device. In summary, the disclosed technical solution increases the speed for updating connection parameters by raising the response speed of the Bluetooth remote control device.
