Protection devices are attached by straps like a backpack, leaving the arms and legs free, without creating heat or discomfort. The main models are made of strong materials and can surround either the head alone or the entire body: the back, the upper and side areas of the body, extending to the front of the body in some areas and possibly to the feet, although separate parts are provided for the feet. These devices are suitable for situations involving the risk of falls, impacts or projectiles, such as working on ladders, roofs, etc.; policing, security and armed forces operations; sports such as mountain climbing, skiing, etc.; driving on motorcycles and the like. The devices can comprise a flexible helmet in the inner part and be attached to lighter devices, such as delta wings, bicycles, etc. A simplified version is used only to hold an umbrella or the like.
