A highly-conductive aluminum alloy material comprises: 0.45wt% -0.60wt% of Fe; 0.15wt% -0.25wt% of Cu; 0.01wt% -0.03wt% of Mg; 0.02wt% -0.03wt% of RE; 0.01wt% -0.02wt% of B; 0.10wt% -0.15wt% of Si; 0.10wt% -0.15wt% of Zr; 0.01wt% -0.02wt% of Ag; 0.01wt% -0.06wt% of Ni; and the balance of Al and inevitable impurities. A method for preparing an aluminum alloy cable conductor comprises the following steps: aluminum melting, aluminum alloy melting, aluminum alloy refining, continuous casting, continuous hot-rolling, on-line quenching, and surface drying treatment.
