The invention relates to a device and a method for producing a rubber finish mixture using a tandem mixer with an upper machine (1) which has an upper mixing chamber (6) and a lower machine (2) which has a lower mixing chamber (6'). The first metering device has a first conveying unit for transporting mixture components to the first conveyor belt, and the second metering device has a second conveyor unit for transporting mixture components to a second conveyor belt (13) which leads to the first conveyor belt, wherein all of the conveyor belts can be activated and deactivated automatically.
