The present invention provides a method for estimating an overall reduction amount in frictional resistance of a frictional-resistance-reduced ship for which frictional resistance between the hull and water is reduced by supplying fine bubbles (microbubbles) to the outer surface of the hull. Calibration curves are generated by calculating frictional resistance reduction amounts (∆Rx) from effective frictional resistance reduction lengths, which are formed along the hull by fine bubbles (9) supplied from fine bubble generation members (1), and ship velocities (V). Frictional resistance reduction amounts (∆Rx) achieved by the individual fine bubble generation members (1) are determined by applying the individual fine bubble generation members (1) mounted on the side surfaces of the hull to the calibration curves, and the determined frictional resistance reduction amounts (∆Rx) achieved by the individual fine bubble generation members (1) are totaled. Consequently, when building a ship having fine bubble generation members mounted on the outer side surfaces of the hull, a frictional resistance reduction amount can be accurately estimated in advance.
