A method for collecting data during remote operation of software installation, and software installation system. The method comprises: recording an installation progress point requiring sending to a user a request for instruction information, and a predetermined request mode corresponding to the installation progress point; monitoring the current installation progress (S102); determining whether the current installation progress reaches the installation progress point requiring sending to a user a request for an instruction (S103); if not, then remaining the same (S104); if so, then sending to a remote terminal of the user a request for an instruction (S105); performing a corresponding operation according to an instruction returned by the user (S106); and transmitting technology usage data to a predetermined data collection end of a manufacturer (S107). In this way, the present invention enables sending of instruction information to a user when reaching a certain installation progress point, thus enabling more flexible installation of software for the user, and facilitating timely and effective collection of technology usage condition data for a manufacturer.
