A lateral-output magneto-optical modulator on the basis of photonic crystal T-type waveguide, comprising a photonic crystal T-type waveguide having a TE forbidden band, wherein said modulator further comprises: an input terminal (1), two output terminals (2, 3), a background silicon dielectric rod (4), an isosceles right triangle defect dielectric rod (5), and a defect dielectric rod (6); said modulator further comprises: an electromagnet (7) providing a bias magnetic field, and a modulation electrical-current source (9), and a modulating signal (10); the input terminal (1) is located at a left end of the photonic crystal T-type waveguide, while the output terminals (2, 3) are arranged in a horizontal line and located at a lower end and a upper end of the photonic crystal T-type waveguide, respectively; the defect dielectric rod (6) is located at a central intersection of the T-type waveguide; the four isosceles right triangle defect dielectric rods (5) are located at four intersectional corners of the T-type waveguide, respectively; TE carrier light is inputted into the photonic crystal waveguide by means of the input terminal (1), and then amplitude modulated light is outputted by means of the output terminal (2) at the lower end of the photonic crystal T-type waveguide. By means of the magneto-optic modulator, a TE carrier light optical-signal modulator is made possible with a high degree of efficiency.
