Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for recognizing micro-expressions through a deep learning analysis of micro-facial dynamics. A method for learning micro-expressions according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: extracting frames for predefined micro-expressions in an input video and learning spatial features for the extracted frames so as to generate a spatial learning model; and extracting spatial features for all frames of the input video by using the generated spatial learning model and generating a temporal learning model by using the extracted spatial features for the all frames, thereby learning each of the micro-expressions.
