A landscape/portrait screen switching method and apparatus for a terminal relating to the technical field of communication, and mainly used for switching a terminal screen between landscape and portrait modes. The method comprises: determining a position state of a terminal screen (101), displaying a first control, a second control and a third control in the terminal screen if the position state of the terminal screen is changed (102), and in response to a selection operation of a user, triggering the terminal, according to the control specified by the selection operation, to perform a control operation corresponding to the control (103). The method resolves the problems in related art such as complexity of operation and procedure, low efficiency and the like, thereby improving the switching efficiency of a terminal screen display mode.
