An attachment unit (1) for attaching a first member (2) and a second member (3) to one another, in order to enable defining a degree of play between the first member (2) and the second member (3) along a direction or two directions perpendicular to one another in order to compensate for heat dilations of the first member (2) and/or the second member (3), comprising: clamping means; a first plate (4) fixable to a first member (2); a connecting member (7) couplable to a second member (3); a second plate (5), comprising: a first slot (31) for receiving the head of the connecting member (7); a second slot (32); a third slot (33); a third plate (6), comprising; a fourth slot (34) for enabling passage of the shaft of the connecting member (7); a fifth slot (35); a sixth slot (36). By suitably orientating the second plate and the third plate with respect to one another and controlling the degree of tightening of the clamping means, it is possible to obtain a first operating mode in which the attachment unit has two degrees of freedom, a second operating mode in which the attachment unit has a degree of freedom and a third operating mode in which the attachment unit has a zero degree of freedom.
