摘要
The invention relates to the field of medicine, and specifically to gynecology, reproductology and embryology, and may be used in in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo transfer (ET) programs for the purpose of predicting the outcomes thereof. In order to achieve the above, time-lapse video recording is used to determine the cleavage plane in embryos at the two-cell cleavage stage, i.e.: horizontal (equatorial - E) plane or vertical (meridional - M). The sequence of second cleavage divisions in these planes is determined, and may be: successive equatorial (EE), successive meridional (MM), meridional then equatorial (ME), and equatorial then meridional (EM). If the sequence of second cleavage divisions in these planes corresponds to EM or MM, the embryos are considered to be viable for subsequent implantation into the uterus in an IVF procedure. The invention provides the earliest and most accurate determination of the highest-quality, and thus most viable, embryos for forming implantation-competent blastocysts for subsequent implantation into the uterus within the framework of an IVF protocol, by virtue of the fact that embryos having a sequence of second cleavage divisions in the equatorial then meridional (EM) or successive meridional (MM) planes are least prone to organic disorders, thus making it possible to achieve the desired pregnancy and the subsequent birth of a healthy child.
