The aim of the invention is to provide a laser system that is improved compared to the prior art and comprises an actively stabilized combination of temporally and spatially separate input laser pulses into high-power output laser pulses. This is achieved by the invention in that the error signal detector (16) periodically scans the output laser pulse train at the output repetition frequency. Alternatively, the error signal detector (16) evaluates the current power level of the output laser pulse train. The invention further relates to a method for generating laser pulses.
