A system and method for providing a laser sustained plasma light source is disclosed. Unlike conventional laser-persistent plasma light sources, which utilize one fiber size and one wavelength combination in the lamp house to generate light for different wavelength ranges and pixel sizes, the optimal power output at different wavelengths and pixel sizes A switchable fiber size and wavelength combination is provided.
