The present invention discloses an apparatus for managing energy based on costs of energy equipment and energy resources, and a method for managing the energy. According to the present invention, the apparatus for managing the energy includes: an energy information collection unit for collecting respective information of equipment and resources for the energy; an energy usage prediction unit for predicting energy usage for each energy equipment and resource; an expected energy cost calculation unit for calculating expected costs of the energy based on the energy usage; and an expected energy benefit calculation unit for calculating expected benefit of the energy using the expected cost of the energy equipment and the expected cost of the energy resources.
